Baotong Temple (Simplified Chinese: 宝通寺; Traditional Chinese: 宝通寺; Pinyin: Bǎotōng Sì) is a Buddhist temple located at the southern foot of Mount Hongshan, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. It is one of the 'Four Great Buddhist Temples' of Wuhan. The temple was first built during the Liu Song dynasty of the Southern Dynasties (420-479 AD), initially named 'Dongshan Temple', and was renamed 'Mituo Temple' during the reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang (618-907 AD). During the Duanping era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1234-1236 AD), Emperor Lizong of Song bestowed the name 'Chongning Wanshou Chan Temple'. A seven-story pagoda was built during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 AD). In the 14th year of Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1381 AD), Zhu Zhen, son of Zhu Yuanzhang, rebuilt the temple on Mount Hongshan. During the Chenghua era of the Ming Dynasty (1457 AD), Prince Zhu Jun'e added the Mahavira Hall. Baotong Temple was extensively expanded in 1485 and renamed 'Baotong Chan Temple', a name it has retained to this day. Existing main buildings include the Mountain Gate, Hall of Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, Patriarch Hall, Life Release Pond, Jade Buddha Hall, Chan Hall, Dharma Hall, Maitreya Hall, Reception Hall, etc. Among them, the Hongshan Pagoda, started in 1280 and completed in 1291, is a seven-story, 44.1-meter-high, octagonal brick and stone pagoda, and is an important historical relic within the temple.

Han Street extends 1500 meters along the south bank of Chu River, gathering approximately 200 businesses including shopping centers, restaurants, and cultural entertainment venues. Wuhan Metro Line 4 has a Chuhe Han Street Station. Han Street boasts a unique architectural style, blending traditional and modern elements. Most buildings recreate the Republican era style, featuring red and grey bricks, exquisite eaves, black doors, brass door knockers, Shikumen gates, brick-paved alleys, and old-fashioned wooden windows. Meanwhile, modern and European-style buildings are also interspersed. Eight cultural projects are also located along Chuhe Han Street, among which the Han Show Theater is at the eastern end of Han Street, built in collaboration by Wanda and Franco Dragone Entertainment Group with an investment of 2.5 billion RMB.
